Maynard Select Board approves $618,500 in state planning grants at remote session

MAYNARD — December 3, 2025 — Maynard Select Board unanimously approves $618,500 in state grants and extends Open Table food pantry hours through January. Meeting remotely due to a winter weather closure, the board voted 4-0 on all items Wednesday, authorizing Town Administrator Greg Wilson to execute a $558,500 MBTA Communities Catalyst Fund contract for final design plans along the Powdermill Road pedestrian and bicycle corridor and a separate $60,000 contract for an update to the town's housing production plan, both through the state Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities. The board also voted to extend Open Table's expanded drive-through hours at 33 Main Street and the Naylor Court parking area through January 2026, after Open Table Treasurer Alex reported serving 473 vehicles over two days during the November SNAP benefit freeze — up from a typical 320 to 330. The board approved the charge for a new Golf Course Advisory Task Force to advise on the future of the town course before the Sterling management contract's initial term expires at the end of 2026, and confirmed two volunteer appointments: Lori Kahalain Petar as a Zoning Board of Appeals alternate and Patrick Green to the Housing Authority.
