Select Board · Meeting of September 15, 2026

Maynard Select Board approves October 13 special town meeting warrant and a raft of contracts. Members unanimously appointed Laurie Cahalane-Petchar to the Zoning Board of Appeals, extended the town's golf course management contract with Sterling Golf Management, and ratified a 2026-2029 memorandum of agreement with the AFSCME Clerical Union, which Town Administrator Gregory Johnson called "a good, respectful partner on this table." The board also authorized a $200,000 Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection earmark for drinking water quality work and a ten-year MassDOT Chapter 90 extension through 2037. The special town meeting warrant advances after the Finance Committee withheld comment on the general fund and a proposed stabilization fund article, and town counsel pulled a zoning article.

Board members also adopted a fiscal 2028 budget policy statement after questioning vague "level-funded" and "limited" wage language, and approved a get-out-the-vote rally at Haynes Court on October 17.
