MAYNARD — Select Board approved $223,000 Shared Streets grant for traffic safety and endorsed Vision Zero. Town Administrator Gregory Johnson was authorized to submit the grant application to MassDOT for safety improvements at four target locations with no local matching funds required; the Department of Public Works targets project completion within six months of award. The board unanimously endorsed Vision Zero, a national framework adopted by Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville to eliminate roadway fatalities and serious injuries.
The board also reversed its Main Street Bridge railing design to concrete, approved $1.29 million in fiscal 2026 end-of-year budget transfers, and enacted a new liability insurance requirement for applicants seeking use of town property.
