Maynard Economic Development Committee reviews marketing staffing proposal with August 28 feedback deadline. The committee approved amended minutes from its July 15 meeting by motion and second, then devoted the session to evaluating a presentation developed by the Marketing Task Force, EDC, Office of Management Services, and Cultural District recommending the town hire a part-time position focused on marketing and economic development. Committee members noted that out-of-town visitors make up 50 percent of event attendees and meals and beverage tax revenue has grown year over year, proposing to fund the role through a portion of that revenue.
Committee Chair Armand Diarbekirian requested members submit all feedback by August 28 so the proposal can be refined before presentation to the Select Board.
