Community Preservation Committee approves COLA increase, considers fall applications

Maynard Community Preservation Committee approves a cost-of-living pay increase for administrative staff. The seven-member committee voted unanimously to raise the hourly rate by $0.75 to $26.50, effective July 1, 2026. Chair Rick Lefferts and members also heard resident Dave Brown's proposal for benches along the Rail Trail, spaced one-quarter mile apart to serve people with mobility and disability challenges.
The project would require sponsorship from a Town entity or civic group, the committee noted. The Conservation Commission is exploring a fall Town Meeting application for improvements at the 57 Thomas Street property.
