Water Trough Grant Extension Approved; Golf Course Task Force Reports Progress

Maynard Community Preservation Committee approves water trough grant extension. Vice Chair Matthew Preys moved to extend the grant term to ensure fund access in case of billing delays for drainage work on the Lorenzo Maynard water trough; the vote passed unanimously 8-0. The committee also heard updates from a Golf Course Reuse Task Force that has assessed the property and found both grounds and clubhouse need significant rehabilitation.
Article 11 on the May Town Meeting warrant allocates $70,000 for capital improvements to the golf course, sponsored by the Select Board, as wetlands flagging is completed and the Conservation Commission prepares documentation for the State.
