Maynard School Committee Gives Superintendent 3 Percent Raise for FY26

MAYNARD — June 18, 2025 — Maynard School Committee unanimously approved a 3 percent raise and $4,000 merit payment for Superintendent Brian Hos at its final meeting of the school year. The salary increase sets Hos's fiscal year 2026 compensation at $193,722, with the one-time merit payment approved separately on a 4-0 roll-call vote. The committee also received a solar project update from Select Energy representative Byron, who reported the high school's rooftop and canopy system reduced grid purchases from more than one million kilowatt-hours in prior years to roughly 64,000 kilowatt-hours over the past 12 months, delivering approximately $24,000 in savings in its first 10 months of full operation at a fixed rate of 9.8 cents per kilowatt-hour against a grid rate of roughly 15 cents. A draft immigration enforcement policy and revised athletic handbooks were both held over to the July meeting — the policy awaiting a companion procedure document, the handbooks pending legal review of a conflict with School Committee transportation policy EA.
