Conservation Commission Approves Revised Rockland Avenue Well Plan

Maynard Conservation Commission approves revised well design, avoiding protected land and stone wall removal. The Commission unanimously authorized the Maynard Department of Public Works to conduct vegetation removal, construct temporary access road, and drill test wells on Rockland Avenue after revised GPS coordinates moved the site outside Article 97 protected land and shortened the access road by 250 feet. The revised plan opens discussion of alternative mitigation for vegetation loss.
In a second vote, the Commission unanimously approved use of Ice House Landing on May 3 for the Assabet River Pollinator Fest hosted by Bailey Thaxton and Bay Staters for Creative Well-Being, with expected attendance of 30 to 40.
