ADA Commission addresses compliance gaps, advances $250K grant application

MAYNARD — ADA Commission identifies multiple accessibility compliance failures. Chair Elijah Tucker led the June 9 meeting, which unanimously approved prior minutes. Commission member Linda reported broken sidewalk with missing curb cut and tree roots on Glendale Street; Gregory Johnson, the town's ADA Coordinator, fielded three parking-related compliance issues: an unpermitted CVS space, a noncompliant spot at Maynard Crossing, and a new request from resident Dan Sargeant for downtown parking near Nason Street.
The FY 2026 improvement grant evaluation is underway with two survey responses as of June 9, and the town's $250,000 FY 2027 ADA grant application was submitted May 29 and awaits approval.
