Select Board Approves Updated Water Rules, Advances Rockland Avenue Loan Application

Maynard Select Board updated water regulations to address accessory dwelling unit demand and advanced state funding for system upgrades. Director of Public Works Justin DeMarco warned that ADUs pose incremental risk to the already constrained water production capacity. The Board unanimously approved comprehensive rule updates and approved a Project Evaluation Form for a Drinking Water State Revolving Fund loan application for the Rockland Avenue water project, with Town Administrator Gregory Johnson noting the town is pursuing concurrent SRF and general bond pathways to maximize flexibility.
The approval carries no financial obligation; any future borrowing requires town meeting authorization.
