Maynard Budget Sub-Committee grapples with unemployment and utilities overages. Town Administrator Gregory Johnson reported unemployment compensation expenses reached $132,976 against a $45,000 budget, an $87,976 overage the Sub-Committee asked the School Department to clarify. A solar array shutdown, now months long due to resident safety concerns, continues to deprive the town of solar credits; Johnson indicated he will consult the town attorney about a possible contract breach by panel owner Luminis.
The Sub-Committee also advanced the Rockland Avenue Water Project to Phase 2, with a feasibility study expected by November or December, and discussed use of an additional $263,262 in FY27 revenue from the state.
