By-law Committee elects Kohlman chairman, Shields secretary

MAYNARD — The By-law Committee unanimously elected William Kohlman chairman and Dan Shields secretary in 3-0 votes. The committee discussed two potential warrant articles for the next annual town meeting: a Maynard Historical Commission proposal to expand its membership from five to seven and authorize alternate appointments, and a prohibition on cryptocurrency automatic teller machines suggested by Town Counsel in response to scams. Chairman Kohlman said he would consult with Select Board Chair Mike Stevens regarding sponsorship of the cryptocurrency prohibition and confirm with Town Counsel whether other Massachusetts municipalities have similar prohibitions and whether state-level work is underway.
