MAYNARD — March 17, 2025 — Maynard Finance Committee reviews nine zoning amendments and two citizens petitions ahead of Annual Town Meeting. Chair Jillian Prendergast convened the March 17 session, which covered Planning Board zoning articles including an Attorney General-mandated ADU bylaw revision and an inclusionary-zoning amendment changing the affordable-unit trade ratio from 1.2-to-1 to 2-to-1 at 60 percent AMI. Citizens petition sponsor Robin presented pest-control spending data showing the schools were on pace to spend more than $16,000 on rodenticides in fiscal year 2025, up from $6,350 in 2024, while arguing second-generation anticoagulant rodenticides are ineffective at scale. A second petitioner, Ben, proposed a sidewalk-access bylaw with a 36-hour snow-clearance window and resident fines starting at $25 per day — the most lenient window he found among comparable towns. The committee approved the March 10 minutes 6-0 but cast no substantive votes on warrant articles, with written recommendations due to the town by approximately April 10 and key budget and water-sewer articles still not yet received from the town administrator.
