MAYNARD — October 20, 2025 — Maynard Finance Committee approves $350,000 in emergency enterprise fund transfers, zeroing both reserve accounts. The committee voted unanimously to approve a $200,000 drawdown from the sewer enterprise reserve fund for emergency repairs to rotating biological contractor treatment equipment at the town's wastewater facility, and a $150,000 drawdown from the water enterprise reserve fund to replace security fencing around a century-old, 1.5-million-gallon drinking water storage tank under pressure from new EPA and state DEP compliance requirements. Both transfers were presented by town staff as time-sensitive, with the water fencing compliance deadline falling before the next Annual Town Meeting. Town staff confirmed the accounts would return to zero until replenished at April's town meeting, noting that "we're kind of still at pretty close to the basement when it comes to our financing for both water and sewer."
