The committee, meeting via Zoom on July 11, is racing against a Select Board deadline of August 6 for fall town meeting warrant submissions, with a quad-board priorities session — including the Select Board, Finance Committee, Capital Planning Committee, and School Committee — set for July 30. Committee member Jack outlined the override strategy, explaining that voters would only need to approve first-year costs — lease, fit-out above any landlord allowance, and incremental staffing — rather than a full multi-year commitment. The lone formal RFI response, from Main Street Crossing, proposes roughly $32 per square foot all-in on 5,000 to 6,000 square feet, with a $35-per-square-foot fit-out allowance for a space that currently has no walls, ceilings, flooring, or plumbing.
