Tree Committee supports Downtown Arboretum expansion along rail trail.

Tree Committee · Meeting of April 14, 2026

MAYNARD — Tree Committee moves to support rail trail arboretum expansion. Chair Danny Schissler's motion to back David Mark's effort to incorporate rail trail trees and shrubs into the Downtown Arboretum passed without recorded opposition. Mark will fundraise; the committee will handle design and procurement of approximately 12 initial signs, with 120 total plants on the trail eligible for inclusion.

The committee also finalized logistics for its Arborday event Saturday, which will distribute 52 trees, and advanced Teaching Allee expansion planting with Saturday installation and loam procurement underway.
