Tree Committee approves sites for Teaching Allee expansion, advances Climate Action input

Tree Committee · Meeting of March 24, 2026

Maynard Tree Committee approves six new planting sites for Teaching Allee expansion. Chair Danny Schissler and committee members submitted formal feedback on the draft Sustainability Committee Climate Action Plan, supporting tree canopy replacement requirements for town projects and requesting dedicated funding mechanisms such as Community Preservation Committee Open Space allocation. The committee proposed a long-term tree inventory and maintenance plan and a set-back planting program while ruling out Tree Hearings as impractical.

Tree Corps received a $1,000 donation and plans to plant 10 trees and 10 shrubs at Coolidge Park on May 9 and 10.
