Town Budget Subcommittee elects Stevens chair, reviews FY26 free cash certification.

MAYNARD — Town Budget Subcommittee unanimously elects Mike Stevens as chair and confirms $2.1M in available free cash. Town Administrator Gregory Johnson reported the revised total — up from an initial $714,809 Department of Revenue certification — after securing a recertification adding $489,337 and identifying $111,709 in unclaimed project balances plus $800,437 in DPW funds. The FY27 General Fund budget is balanced following lower-than-expected health insurance costs at 10.4 percent versus the 15 percent initial projection.

Water and sewer rate increases for a Rockland Treatment Plant project range from 5 percent to 47 percent depending on bonding and design funding decisions.
