Sustainability Committee approves annual report and Climate Action Plan drafts

Sustainability Committee · Meeting of February 2, 2026

Maynard Sustainability Committee approves annual report and reviews Climate Action Plan drafts. The committee unanimously approved the annual report on a 6-0 vote and discussed Solid Waste Management and Transportation and Mobility sections without recording formal votes on those drafts. New part-time solid waste manager coordinator Linde Ghere attended her first meeting and confirmed alignment with the committee's solid waste planning.

Rebecca Ansolabehere emphasized that zero emissions vehicles and charging infrastructure will be critical for Maynard to achieve Climate Leader Community designation, the next tier beyond the current Green Community status. The Maynard Power Choice community aggregation program has generated over 70 thousand dollars in savings since its September launch.
