Select Board approves water infrastructure and staffing contracts.
Select Board · Meeting of January 6, 2026
MAYNARD — Select Board unanimously approves water infrastructure contracts and reviews DPW staffing crisis. The board authorized a $119,364 contract with Stantec Consulting Services for a Massachusetts Water Resources Authority connection cost analysis shared by ten communities, and approved a $55,800 security fence installation contract with Steelco Chain Link Fence Erecting Co. at the town's concrete water tank. Director of Public Works Justin DeMarco reported two vacant water treatment operator positions have left remaining staff working 80 to 90 hours weekly, attributed to a national crisis in water utility staffing.
The board also appointed Natalie Robert and Tom Hesbach to the Golf Course Advisory Task Force, renewed the ClearGov budgeting platform contract, and certified the Maynard Housing Authority's fiscal year 2025 annual plan.
