Maynard Budget Subcommittee reviews fiscal 2026 status and prepares town meeting warrant. Town Administrator Gregory Johnson reported that 78 percent of budgeted local receipts have been received at the three-quarter mark through the fiscal year, with concerns about investment income due to interest rate uncertainty. The subcommittee addressed fiscal 2027 debt service projections, which are increasing because of accelerated Green Meadow School construction bonding, though the total expected amount remains unchanged.
Members expressed concerns about a proposed police body camera contract exceeding five years, citing grant funding uncertainty and evolving technology. The committee will reconvene May 26 at 6:30 p.m.
