Historical Commission discusses storage, membership expansion, and oral history project

Maynard Historical Commission advances oral history and preservation projects. Seven commissioners, meeting April 28 at the library, approved previous meeting minutes and discussed storage options, membership expansion, and document preservation. Ellen Duggan volunteered to examine Town Hall for potential storage space for commission records and archival materials.
Two historical signs are nearing completion, with Priscilla Sandberg arranging payment and vendor invoicing. Heather O'Brien continues work on an indigenous people project with Emily Thayer. Priscilla Sandberg met with Dave Griffin at the Maynard Historical Society to discuss preservation strategies.
The commission plans to gather long-time residents for a roundtable discussion to be preserved as oral history on the library's YouTube channel.
