Historical Commission advances marker and plaque projects

MAYNARD — The Maynard Historical Commission approves prior meeting minutes, advances historic preservation projects. Meeting without Chair Priscilla Sandberg present, the seven-member commission unanimously approved January minutes and assigned ongoing work on historic markers and plaques, with Pamela Agner scheduling Powder Mill marker meetings, Heather O'Brien managing Indigenous Peoples signage work, and Ellen Duggan checking plaques at the poor house and farm home near Alumni Field. The Maynard Historical Society will acquire the original 1956 Green Meadow School dedication plaques while the commission develops an exhibit on the school's opening.
The Community Preservation Committee has $290,000 in available funds for Alumni Field House restoration or affordable housing development.
