Maynard Finance Committee votes against article lacking adequate hardship protections for owners. Finance Committee Chair Jillian Prendergast and members voted 5-1 not to recommend Article 31 (Tax Title Payment Agreements) following a public hearing on 32 warrant articles for the May 2026 Annual Town Meeting, with Nathaniel Dwyre dissenting and Nikhil Rao abstaining. Committee members voiced concern that the amended article removes financial-hardship protections for owner-occupant taxpayers and provides the town no additional enforcement tools beyond existing Treasurer/Collector remedies.
The committee approved prior meeting minutes 6-0 and adjourned at 9:22 p.m.
