Finance Committee reviews FY27 budget amid regional school assessment increase

MAYNARD — Finance Committee prepares for the Annual Town Meeting amid FY27 budget pressures. Chair Jillian Prendergast and the committee reviewed the FY27 draft budget, which includes an increase in the Assabet Regional Technical School assessment and a decrease in state "cherry sheet" funding. Members identified roofs, water, schools, and roads as the town's top fiscal challenges.
Committee member Nathaniel Dwyre reported a $1.4 million Eversource rebate to support the new Green Meadow school project.
