Maynard Finance Committee prepares for 2026 Annual Town Meeting while reviewing FY27 budget. Chair Jillian Prendergast's committee met March 2 to unanimously approve prior meeting minutes and raised concerns about a lower-than-expected free cash certification and a 13.2 percent increase in the Assabet school allocation. Members assigned work to draft recommendations for 11 warrant articles in preparation for the May meeting.

The committee reported $1.4 million in energy efficiency funding will become available after new school construction completes, plus $50,000 in state-earmarked funding for the senior center.
